Chanmoris Kamoshi Kōshū 2024 (750 ml)

シャンモリ かもし甲州 2024 山梨県甲州市勝沼町産 辛口
Orange Wine · Dry · Yamanashi Prefecture · 100% Kōshū · Vintage 2024

Short Description

Dry Japanese Orange Wine made from 100% Kōshū grapes from Katsunuma. Fermented with skins and seeds. Complex aromas of Japanese mandarin, pink grapefruit, dried rose petals, and Hōjicha meet crisp acidity, subtle spice, and a pleasantly tart structure.

Origin & Style

The name "Kamoshi" refers to the special skin-contact fermentation of this wine. Juice, skins, and seeds are fermented together to bring out the aromas and delicate structure of the Kōshū grape more intensely.

  • 100% Kōshū grapes
  • Grown in Katsunuma Town, Kōshū City, Yamanashi Prefecture
  • Skin-contact fermentation with skins and seeds
  • Light orange-pink color
  • 2024 vintage, limited to 6,000 bottles

Aroma Profile

  • Japanese Mandarin (Mikan)
  • Pink Grapefruit
  • Dried Rose Petals
  • Hōjicha (roasted green tea)
  • Cumin
  • Agarwood (Oud)

Palate: crisp acidity and a pleasant bitterness that lingers on the finish, beautifully enhancing fruit and umami notes.

Serving Recommendation

  • Temperature: 10–12 °C, do not chill too much
  • Our food pairing recommendation: Yakitori, Tempura, grilled fish, Miso dishes, roasted vegetables, and spicy Asian cuisine

Why this wine is with us

Kōshū is one of the defining grape varieties of Japanese winemaking. Through fermentation with skins and seeds, it presents itself here as spicy, complex, and yet precise. The 2024 vintage, limited to 6,000 bottles, was awarded Bronze at both the IWSC 2025 and the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025, and received a "Commended" rating at the International Wine Challenge 2025.
